Caryl Richey is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Medical Massage Practitioner, and Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist dedicated to providing bodywork that is nurturing, not painful, and deeply effective. Her approach bridges clinical precision with compassionate care—addressing the body’s physical dysfunction while supporting overall balance and well-being.
Caryl’s training includes a comprehensive range of therapeutic techniques: Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Therapeutic Exercise & Education, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Reflexology, Lymphatic Facilitation, Advanced Post-Surgical Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Scar Tissue Treatment & Revision, Medical/Clinical Massage, Intraoral Therapy, Gua Sha, Pneumatic Cupping, Teishin/Acupressure, Reiki, ReiGong, Swedish, Sports, Shiatsu, and SMRT. She draws from these methods to create individualized, results-oriented treatment plans designed to meet each client’s unique needs and support their overall wellness.
Caryl’s passion for medical massage therapy began in her early twenties after sustaining multiple injuries that left her in severe pain. The bodyworkers who helped her heal inspired her to dedicate her career to helping others regain comfort, mobility, and confidence in their bodies. She believes in fostering a supportive, shame-free environment grounded in kindness, compassion, and patient education—empowering each person to participate in their own healing process.
Her practice focuses on restoring optimal function, improving circulation, reducing pain, and promoting nervous system regulation—whether supporting recovery from injury, addressing chronic conditions, or helping clients maintain long-term wellness.
A lifelong Alaskan, Caryl enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, cooking and baking, and boxing at her local gym.
At Luminous Manual Therapy, Caryl’s philosophy centers on the belief that healing happens best when the body feels safe, supported, and understood.
